Originally the private studio of renowned contemporary Chinese ink artist Zhang Chenxi, the space was transformed into a public gallery in 2025. Today, Zhang personally welcomes visitors, offering a rare and intimate experience for those who step through its doors.

Housed in a two-story villa, the gallery blends seamlessly with the island’s tranquil surroundings, creating an immersive setting where nature and art coexist in harmony.

The gallery showcases an impressive collection of works by leading contemporary Chinese ink artists, including Zhang Chenxi and An Jisike, spanning from the 1980s to the present. Many of these works are being exhibited to the public for the first time.

Zhang Chenxi has redefined the boundaries of traditional ink painting with a bold and liberated approach, while An Jisike is celebrated for founding the Qilian Mountain School, a style that merges Eastern heritage with Western influence. Both artists are at the forefront of innovation in Chinese ink art, and their works are held in prestigious collections both in China and abroad.
